Agua Fria – Unique Sites

Agua Fria is a special place with so many archaeological sites it would take years to explore them all if you went every day. This last trip with friends showed me a couple I’d been wanting to see, and a couple I didn’t know about. Needless to say, it was an amazing trip! 

These petroglyphs are more unique in my opinion and the elaborate design of some is mind boggling. The time it would have taken the artist to peck them into the stone must’ve made these images very important.  

One in particular is thought to represent a supernova that happened in 1054. It would have been visible in the sky for over 30 days. If this is truly a representation of that supernova, what an important event it must’ve been.
