We drove out to Gillespie Dam in Arlington AZ to check out the petroglyph site there. We’d heard there was another good section aside from the main one that gets heavy traffic, so we decided to go hunting. We got extremely lucky and found a large number of petroglyphs. The one in the main image was pretty remote, I doubt many people have seen it aside from myself.
These petroglyphs were probably made by both the Hohokam and Patayan people as they both inhabited this area at the same time and lived together although they spoke different languages.
