Honanki Heritage Site – Sedona

After our visit to the Palatki Heratige Site, we drove 30 minutes down some rougher dirt roads to get to the Honanki site. This road is not much worse, except one portion where you drive through a wash which is all sand, and it’s recommended to have 4 wheel drive to pass through. There’s Park Rangers at the entrance to the site, but it’s not like Palatki where you get a docent to tell you all about it since it’s further and harder to get to.

Here you will find a ruin that is built in the base of the cliffs in the same way, still preserved well and just something amazing to see. There are some petroglyphs and pictographs here, and even some writings from the 1930’s from some of the first people to discover the ruins.
