Sears Kay Ruins – Phoenix

My wife and I decided to go for a short hike to the Sears Kay Ruins which are about 30 minutes from our home. I hadn’t known about these until recently, and have been wanting to check them out ever since.

It’s an easy hike, slightly uphill to the ruins, then downhill all the way back to finish the loop. I found some pottery sherds placed on a rock, and found another on the ground to add to the group for the next visitor.

These dwellings were made by the Hohokam Indians about 900+ years ago. It fascinates me to think about what the land was like back then, without the development we have today.
