Superior AZ

Met up with a small group of archaeological enthusiasts and explored some areas outside of Superior AZ. The now abandoned city of Pinal of which all that remains are some bricks, rusty metal equipment, a few bricks and old foundations from buildings which were used for mining. Evidence of the high volume of traffic here can be seen by the ruts carved into the rock by horse-drawn wagons.

We then visited some small ruins left behind by Native Americans who lived there about 800 to 1200 years ago as well as a few petroglyphs they left on the rocks. Then up to an old mine to find some “Apache Tears” as mementos.
