The Great Bend of the Gila River

A fun trip I had a little while back. It’s somewhat remote, and just amazing landscape. Petroglyphs are from 2 different people that lived here, the Hohokam, and the Patayan. The Patayan came later, but both lived here from about 800ad to 1400 ad. There are also a number of names etched into the rocks from the 49ers and others passing through on their way to California from 1848 and on.
